Yes, it’s from a painting by Samuel Peploe, one of the Scottish colourists, I don’t know the title of the painting.
Alan, is yours either Monet or Turner, of a cathedral or church that was done many times by the artist to capture the light at all times of the day and year. Without looking it up, I’ll go for Monet?

Well of course you’re right Fiona, it’s Monet’s Rouen Cathedral at Noon.
He did indeed paint many of these from his temporary apartment/studio window,
which was opposite the Cathedral - capturing the changing light throughout the day.
I have visited this magnificent building and drawn and painted it, it’s a complicated structure and ideal for an impressionist style or approach.
I’ll have to come up with something more difficult next time!
