I think it's my favourite read Robert. It's a solid, sound base if you have an interest in cast drawing. Working through the plates is such a valuable exercise in tonal value, sight size drawing and training the eye. It's really enjoyable working through the plates.
Yesterday was Art Group a member led an activity she has developed for use with students and groups for vulnerable and socially isolated so we were the dummy run for her. So I thought I would share my finished piece and totally out of my comfort zone
George , Gill and Stephen great posting from each of you. I haven’t done much today to many distractions, hope to get something done tomorrow.
I was quite restless last night and decided to come down and sketch , couldn’t think of a sketch so set up two basic sketches for paintings , first one  will be a pen and either wash or pastel hence the one drawing . The second one will be a watercolour of an old tramp ship sailing past Europa point Lighthouse Gibraltar well that’s the plan .
Quick 20 minute sketch.  Pulpit rock old town , isle of scilly.  Pen and pencil, except I picked up the wrong pencil to take, 3H instead of 3B 😀.  We’re travelling very light so couldn’t take much.
Apalogies. It seems I have posted the same picture on three different days. I can only suggest that it is stupidity on my part. At least this one is different (I think)
I don't sketch every day but here is a quick sketch I did recently while having coffee in the park, (complete with coffee stains).
Sketch for a linocut print
This looks interesting Gillian. I don't know much about how the process works but I look forward to seeing your outcome.
Alan , George and Lynda excellent sketches , Gill lm with Denise n the looking forward to seeing it develop. A pen and pastel study sketch , possibly do a painting based on the tug and sailing barge at some point in the future.  Come out a bit brighter than in reality.
