Grand drawings all round. Here’s a drawing I did yesterday with a view to a possible painting.
Be nice to see that develop into a painting Tessa . Thank you Lew , I’m just experimenting with the pens as I find then very different to pencil obviously, though the added greys from the pastel would have a nice effect. Just done this one as you will see from the photo I haven even removed the dust from the pastes , used various greys and white to contrast the black , done in my marine sketch pad .
I think you are well suited to te pens and pastel Paul! It was suddenly very calm this afternoon and very warm for a few hours but it’s getting windy again!
You’ve captured the feel of the strong winds Gillian! My friend in Tillicoultry said they were told to stay in all day, and the winds were quite scary but I think the worst is past hopefully.
I’ve been fooling around with pens this evening, used a dip pen with an italic nip and then a roller ball ink pen . I also added a bit of colour pastel to the sketch I did earlier as an experiment. Interesting but I think I prefer the mono version.

Pencil sketches from my landscape pad , I have a pad for each of my favourite subjects and a couple of rough pads on the go .
Rather sketchy sketches from me today- Plein air - on a walk of two llamas in the fields. Also a roadside view on way back. Biro and felt pen.

A couple of sketches today both using fine liners and pastel in one , I’ve been playing around with pen and pastel and quite like the effect . This one was inspired by a sepia photo taken in the late 1800s it of a steam barge loading cargo use a brown/ tan coloured paper.

Paul, I know you won’t forsake your watercolour painting, but I think your pen work is bringing an extra dimension to your art.  So it’s worth spending some of your art-time in persisting with it.   If only there were more hours in the day.
