Hi Sylvia , I know it’s your favourite flower and you have painted some beautiful examples . The first of these pen and pastel sketch’s was inspired by a photo sent to me , the second is from a pot in the garden that I was clearing out .
Your pen and ink work gets better and better Paul.  The combination of pastel and pen is very effective.  Not something I’ve tried.
These are lovely, Paul.
Excellent sketching Paul
Hi Sylvia Glad to see you are still popping onto the forum ! Hope you are  recovering well x
Last night quick sketch , I’ve not been able to get out and paint for the last week due to other things taking priority, I get so frustrated when I can’t so try to do something simple and quick in the evening at the dining table. This took around ten to twelve minutes and satisfied the must do something itch a simple pen and wash , lately I’ve used pastel but thought for a change I’d do a wash .
Hi . Jumping back in after after some technical issues that locked my account.  Currently on the Douro trying sketching on the go
Nice to see your back with us Martin . Did this very quickly last night while listening to some music, inspired by some black and white photos I was looking at earlier in the evening.
Quick sketch started in a waiting area. With a simple wash add at home. On 100 x 150mm old fashioned watercolour postcard. Which I have recently started to carry with me. For that unexpected opportunity
Ps. Paul Really like your white on black musical work.
I must apologies for my absence been so busy lately something had to give. Anyway here is a  sketch
I know the feeling Gillian,  I have had a busy year - accidents and incidents - holidays, visitors from the Antipodes, strange weather demanding gardening activities.  But I am changing my bad habits and returning to the fold. Impressive sketching from all and well done for keeping the thread going. Although I didn’t usually contribute to this thread, it doesn’t mean that I don’t sketch. I have just finished another A3 sketch book and had to get another one.  The tutor at the life class that I go to each week, always puts in lots of quick poses, to get our hand eye coordination going.  So I now have books full of them and wondered what to do with them.  I think kindling paper would be a good use as I know that eventually when I pop my clogs the will end up in the tip. Here are a couple of my quickies.
