Yes, Skylar and Alan have guessed that mine was Dune.  Will have to do some thinking about Skylar’s.   (I’ve got a shelf full of sci-fi books inherited from my father who was a keen reader of science fiction.)

Sylvia - I don't know how I missed this one, I got that booK as a gift (My dog's name).
He is quite famous you know 🐾🐾🐾
Skylar - do buy a copy of Sylvia's book, it's glorious
And some of the proceeds go to help the animal shelter where he came from.
After some thought, My image could also be applied to Walter Tevi's book, which was made into a movie...

Well that would be The Man Who Fell To Earth, but I’m still stumped by your original thoughts.
A great challenge subject, I must drag myself out of my heat induced stupor and do a couple.   Completely flummoxed by Skylar's entry, love the painting.  It's great to see Jenny's 'Rings' and 'Dune' paintings again...even I managed to get them.  I have a copy of Sylvia's book, so I could hardly fail to spot that one.  Had I not had a copy, for some reason I might have suggested 1984, and all that 'big brother is watching you' guff.  (I know...I'm warped...it's the heat.) For now, I'm offering a drawing that did not have a book illustration origin, but might well suggest the title of one of my favourite books.  I wonder if you'll get it...maybe I'm being too devious...but it's the heat y'know...have I mentioned the heat?
Moby Dick -? Whaling on the high-seas, or wailing on the high-c's?
You are in the right area Andrew.
How about ‘The Cruel Sea’
Spot on Alan.  We had a similar challenge a while back, and I made a picture for it then.  A great book (and film).
