Here's my retreat  - not the best of photos
Looks just great, Michael.  I'd love one (or more) of those display racks near the door...I've forgotten what they're called.
Oh, how I would love a studio/art space to paint. We live in a bungalow with no spare space. My paintings are taking over. I do all my painting in the kitchen on the work tops. It’s the unpacking and packing away afterwards that’s a pain. I envy all of you with designated space, also I’d just love a big easel, the one I’ve got won’t take large canvases.  Ellen

Lewis Cooper on 16/01/2020 11:36:37 They seem to have a variety of names but Print racks seems to be the most used. The door leads into the garage and the notice on it is a quote from Ulysses by Alfred, Lord Tennyson - A Work Of Nobler Note May Yet Be Done
I guess I'm lucky Ellen -  I extended the garage to make a purpose built studio - the othrer side of the studio is a garden room /workshop.
I've photo'd from 4 angles. As you can see, I can't use the space under the sloping ceiling to paint, (except if I sit at the table) but I put storage there and constantly remind myself to duck! Doors into the roof space for more storage and cupboards down the back of the room for yet more storage, you'd think this would help with insulation! I tend to paint either just in front of the window or where the easel is now. I could just about swing a cat but I love cats so I wouldn't.

This is where I paint.  A corner of the spare bedroom.  My wife’s lace making equipment, a folding double bed and bookshelves take up the rest of the room.  It all has to be hidden away when someone comes to stay!  I always wanted a purpose made studio at the bottom of the garden. Alan Morris.
Photos of rooms don't always give a true idea of space.  This looks small (says somebody using a desk), but it looks a smashing place to work...and it's all yours!  Must be great to be able to finish a session, then just shut the door on it. Love all the pictures on the walls.  A quick survey of this thread suggests that more have rooms, than have a 'corner of a room.'   I think I'm developing 'room envy'. (I'm just going to draw something on my tiny desk...before I have to start burning our evening meal.)
Alan, we must have cross-posted, my previous bit was about Marjorie's art suite.  I see you don't have a complete room, either, but it looks full of interest.
Sylvs shed   Guess when I don’t use it.
Wow Sylvia, how big is your garden!?
What a beautiful setting. I cannot understand why you won’t use it because of a bit of snow, you could get some thermals, and a wee dram.
