Fiona...another lucky one with a 'room'...I'm very envious. A lot of interesting bits in there. Odd that you can't post more than one photo...when I started this post it let me post several. I'm using a PC. (Another glitch, perhaps?)
Very ingenious way to get more space, Linda. A board across the open drawers. Great idea. It looks pretty cosy to me, being that close to a window must be a boon.
We've downsized to a two bedroomed bungalow, so my bit of the conservatory is the best option at the mo.
Unless...unless...I could persuade my wife we don't need a bed in our second bedroom. That's for visitors. But we don't need visitors 'who stay overnight!!' A nuisance. Who needs overnight visitors? (Just trying the thought out...it won't wash...I'm stuck in the conservatory.)

I'm with you on that Lew,getd rid of a spare bed that we don't use. We too downsized to a 2 bed.bungalow 6 years ago and although I wouldn't swap it for the world I do miss my workroom I had. But you learn to improvise and make the most of what you have. That looks a great space you have Fiona.

I’ve had some rubbish spaces previously Lewis, spare room, kitchen table, my knee! It’s nice to be able to spread out, I’m very fortunate.
The best thing about it is that because it’s away from the living part and no one sees it really, I can walk away without tidying up.
I think we can be an inventive lot.
Lewis when I tried to upload several photos they were the wrong way round, I don’t normally need to correct my pics, but even when I edited them, they still uploaded them side ways.
I think you’re right Gudrun, Bacon, I remember seeing a documentary about him some years ago.

Yes Linda, if you want to draw and paint, you can always find somewhere to do it. And I like to be able to walk away and leave things, Fiona. That happened when I was using an old kitchen table in my conservatory, the neatness shown in the picture of my new table is simply because it IS new...that will change. I find a part worked picture with the pencils and paint left as last used, an incentive to do a bit more. If I had a spare room as a studio, I'd be far messier and would love it.
Back in Fantasy land, I'm fascinated by artist's studios where they work large scale....
Above is Laurie Lipton, an artist who works in a massive scale, in PENCIL no less...she's admitted she's no real idea how long they take. Partly because she works on several pictures at once. Her studio must be massive.
Here's another artist who works large scale...
This is Martine Yohanna, somehow I didn't expect her paintings to be large scale.
How nice to try something on this scale, but where to do it, and where do you keep it after? I guess I'll be sticking to A3, or maybe A2 at most.

And here's a more realistic one. I like the wall of ref pics etc.
These came from Pinterest. I'd looked at artist's studios there, and they sent me a load more. I won't post any more...I'm turning green with envy.
