This is so interesting.  I went back and totalled mine at 13,840 views.  I'm such a slow painter so only have 22 works of art on the gallery over 3 years so am put to shame by those of you whose output is not only far greater but wonderful too.  Lewis,Alan,Denise,Denise like all your work and have enjoyed revisiting your galleries as a result of this forum chat.  Wouldn't it be interesting to ask everyone for their own favourite work of art and to have a side gallery or mini 'exhibition' for a limited time period?
Having said all of the above, I don't think they are necessarily accurate. Some of mine don't make sense.
I agree with you Marjorie, they are not accurate counts.  On occasions I’ve looked at one of my own pictures and the count has jumped up by 2 or 3.  Also according to the system, I have no “likes” but I clearly have when the pictures are viewed in the gallery.
Pre- new website, there was no option for likes so there will not be any.  That is why the like option has not really taken off.  There seems to be more comments than likes, which most websites would find strange.
I liked the old webby better than this one ,I think I even predate Robert J ,a few of us oldies are still here watching you youngsters get all excited about scores...lol. I go back to 2009 .  So there 😊😊😊 Have just looked at my views which I have never done before  127943  .

I'm an oldie too, Sylvia, re the site. And , like you, I prefer the old one. The one thing I'm thinking though, before we all get carried away, is that viewings aren't necessarily positive. Could be quite a few "Whaaaat?"😁
Am not sure I get excited by scores Sylvia but it's definitely always nice to receive comments good or bad.  Hadn't looked at my overall scores until today actually and not sure if I set any store by them ... it's the comments that are always of value to me and being able to see other people's work.   Anyway, this is the week I shall start painting again!
I too prefer the old website.  Not sure when I joined POL, it could have been around 2006 - 2009 although I was just looking and not posting anything then.  I seem to remember you needed a different login for the forum.  I’m not great on joining in mostly.

It is good to hear that you are starting painting again Heather and Sylvia. How is it that you have a score of 7739 for reputation, whilst most of the rest of us have none? Alan M, There is nothing odd about views going up.  It would be odd if they went down though.  Anyone can access this site from all over the world by doing a google search: not just members.  If they search for the words, which happen to be in the title of your picture or your name, google will find you.  It is possible that the most viewed are the ones with the most popular words in.  Perhaps if we all called our paintings “ sex and drugs and rock’n’roll”. They would get more viewings!  But somehow I think that since the new website we come further down the google list.
I’m also confident that the amount of views are correct, I’ve seen mine tick up gradually over the years. But yes, I could have had 650,000 people viewing my work who didn’t like it! We’ll never know...
Well, I have just found one of my paintings from 2015 that has had 345 views.  I clicked on it once to view it.  it now has 347 views.
But the extra one could have been me looking at your gallery.  I note that you didn’t go back to egg tempera.  But we will never know.   I’ve just looked at my gallery to find that I’ve had 64k viewings.  I would have thought that was good if Alan B had not revealed that he has over 10 times that amount.
