Hi everyone. Great sunny day, but very cold and windy down here. I was going to do a little gardening, but it's too draughty, and I'll have plenty of time for that. So I'll be drawing most of the day I expect...it's that or fall asleep in my chair watching TV.
I've been doing a comic-style project about a chap going to Paris. I finished the latest page yesterday lunchtime (posted it this morning). Much as I enjoy doing it, I don't want to do it all the time. I use a fairly quick loose style, or I'd never finish it. So in between I do something different.
I've started a page of more detailed pen and wash drawings in my A3 sketchbook. I just draw random pictures, not related, to fill the page. For this page I'm using reference photos...the license free use stuff...but I'll probably include something from the pics Dawn's posting. I don't do this very often, so it's practice at least. It's something I can stop and go back to later, in between whatever else I think of. This means I've always got something to do...the Paris thing...this sketchbook...whatever else I think of next...plus all the stuff Dawn's doing. So I've no excuse for sitting staring at a blank page wondering what to do.
This is how far I've got so far...remember, it's not a picture. It'll end up as a page of sketches. It's looks a little odd at the moment. It's about 90% pen, plus a little wash.
I'll stop posting something here every day. There's so much going on elsewhere it's hard to keep up. I'll just stick something on now and then.

That’s a great sketch Lew. I’m looking at doing some sort of online art work for the children of the local National Trust staff and volunteers. The first thing that needs to happen is for the Trust techs to see if it’s achievable before we rush in. I thought I’d do some simple step by step sketches and a bit of wash to start with. The suggestion has been made that we have a gallery for the finished work. To be honest I’m hoping it will come off as it could be good fun, it’s an extension of the workshops I do at Hughenden Manor. It will be challenging, and I’m a bit fearful of it but as they say, what the hell, just go for it.
It’s sunny but cold here like you I was going to do some gardening but did the ironing instead , whilst listening to some music, don’t try do that often , listen to music I mean. Take care of yourselves and your loved ones.
