I've been looking at the forum the last few days and thought it was quiet - as Margaret says it is holiday season. I wish I had something interesting to say but alas, my fountain has run dry at the moment - which is normally unheard of!
If you take my advice fellas, you should be thankful that I for one am silent - temporarily of course.😉

Adele I have always found the topics . questions and banter LOL very interesting and occasionally I will give my one penny worth to the item. I certainly have started lively discussions on the two subjects , Syd might say it is a little boring. but as a newcomer to the forum. I still have a lot to read and learn about the different artists on the gallery. perhaps it is time for another challenge or two. it is always nice to have something different to do. please don't be silent for too long , I shall get withdrawal symptoms from your banter with Syd and Robert etc.

One of the fundamental issues with the forum is that there are only a handful of regular contributors, this will inevitably lead to 'quiet periods'.
I have made suggestions on several occasions that the forum be 'flagged -up' on the gallery and have offered suggestions on how to promote it, I won't go over these again but basically it's common practice in newspapers and are known as 'teaser ads', and I have first-hand experience that they do work.
Moving on from that, it does appear that when a controversial issue is raised we have a barrage of response which is brilliant, perhaps I should mention Bob Ross again...

Thank you Tao for your encouragement. Actually I think Syd and Robert may be secretly "missing" me - or it could be wishful thinking on my part. 😜
Perhaps some "sublimal intervention" like they do with various advertisement e.g. a 5 second flash - "FORUM" inserted in Blogs, Gallery etc. A bit scary I'd admit. Only joking.......or am I?😎

I had a mention of the Eternal Bob on my blog page - it was a couple of years ago, but I still get comments, usually defending him against an attack I didn't really make; it's because his name pops up on Google so often, it attracts continuing attention. I even saw a Bob Ross planter the other day.

D' you know, I have a damn' good mind to change the title of this thread to The Forum Is A Thrill A Minute - (something I learned to do before Dawn did.... just about the only thing). I'm sure Syd didn't plan on it cropping up again and again 3 months after he started it: it's beginning to get on my wick!
