OK...boring, never thought that but I do find the June issue of The Artist, not far off. Obscure techniques - (Verdaccio) never did enjoy Tyler's stuff, Kinnear too complicated, Digital stuff Spray Paint MarkMaking Maybe it's just stuff that doesn't grab me, it's getting to the point I'd rather watch countless BBC News which is all election and no news, there was a big incident in Times Sq New York yesterday apparently? and that bloke from the labour party rabbitting on with not a cat in h*l*s chance. There you go....
I'm always up for a challenge, Syd. :) These birds with gangly legs need studying to get them right...but anyway. This effort has been done with, chunky chalk blocks.
Ha ha, Sylvia. Could be I've portrayed my concentration into the bird.
I've never seen a stork - must have seen photographs, but can't remember them. So no challenge for Jones, I'm afraid.. As for the boring bit - well, it is, at the moment, submerged somewhat in a bit of natter, which is fine if you like that sort of thing (I know Alan and Syd don't) - what we haven't got much of just now is questions about the technical issues, the practice of painting, all the stuff which is of interest to those starting out and wanting to improve. But we've had questions about art colleges, and inspiration or lack of so it's not as if the bigger issues aren't being considered. Just not often enough, some might think.... But it'll pick up: it always has before. Perhaps everyone is so involved in the election campaign that they haven't time to visit - ho ho... I'm sure it's partly the time of year, though, this protracted transition between one season and another .... I can't think of anything to ask, or any really provocative thing to say either: irresolute, that's the word; it'll change.
I will have a try tonight Syd, see what I can remember!
Syd will remember (and so will several others) the late Jimmy 'Schnozzle' Durante, singing "It's my nose's boithday, not mine ..... My nose was born upon this day in 1893: exactly three weeks later, the stork delivered me!". They don't write 'em like that any more..
Ah! got me there, Syd, haven't used stork for a long time.
You mentioned you go or went fly fishing, Syd. Could be another challenge there, or maybe on the theme of the nose. One more for the road for, Schnozzle. Great thread I hope it keeps going, Nice work, Craftyme :)
This is one I sent to my last exhibition and sold in the first five minutes .. .I don't like to show of Syd but you have persuaded me to let you have a look before it goes on show and give you the first chance to buy though hurry there is only one left
You've really thrown down the gauntlet Syd - just did this one in response before putting the kettle on so it's a bit rough round the edges .
Sorry Syd for what I did A standing stork is what you need I got it wrong I do concede I missed that bit about in flight I'll try again to get it right but bear with me I humbly pray I'm a little short of time today.
Nice work, gentlemen. A fine whit you have, Alan. And a very nice poetic response, Michael, I'm impressed.
