Very nicely drawn Anjana - I agree with Marjorie, chairs are difficult.
Everyone seems to be pushing themselves, well done 👍. I’ve only just made it this evening, a bit of a morbid sketch but I’ve been meaning to do this since I took the photo, last year, I think. It’s one of many stones I took pictures of, they are individual works of art. Telling the story of life and death, whether it was a natural death, what his trade was, etc. I’ll post on the gallery tomorrow and give an explanation of what the symbols mean, some are obvious. Photo not good, taken in artificial light.
Cor, Fiona, you've excelled yourself tonight! Fantastic!!
Glad to hear that chair is a difficult subject, Marjorie I know exactly what you mean by bits have to relate to each other! Wow Fiona such an intricate sketch of a fascinating stone, those features look so 3 dimensional. Margaret beautiful treeline, there is a sense of movement in your mark making as if you are looking out of a car window. Tessa and Marjorie wonderful daffodil paintings and sketch. Marjorie it’s funny isn’t it when you look forward to painting something and you find your heart is not in it, although it doesn’t show in your work! Delightful snippets of robin action Linda, how cute! Ha ha funny expression of your sheep Richard.
Well folks we’ve made it to the last day of January (and no I don’t mean Brexit!). It’s been great fun and certainly a challenge. I feel The pressure ramping up today to do something half decent. 🥴. Anyhow, Marjorie your daffs are great, no problem there, Anjana your chair is also wonderful and yes you chose quite a tricky one but you’ve conquered the shape so well. Margaret your landscape at Mersehead is lovely. It’s useful and good to have a theme like this to dip into especially when other inspiration isn’t there. (mine has probably been the local arboretum for this month). Fiona, what an amazing and wonderful stone and a super detailed drawing to boot! Now for today....!
It’s the last day, bit like the end of term or something similar. Well done to everyone who has made it to the end, and those who participated on the way. Some really good stuff has been produced and I don’t know about anyone else it’s certainly done my stretching skills good. I still have a bit to do on my today’s offering, but thought I would wait until I have collected my new glasses. I’m also picking up a table to set up in the spare room, after years of been relegated to the shed and the end of the dining table, I’ve been promoted to the spare room. Same table area but I can leave things out more. Good luck everyone with today’s input.
As Paul cleverly put "Its a bit like the end of term or something" No one wants to be the first to reveal their hand for today. I for one will miss this, as it has made my decision making on what to do, and how to draw it , has come on leaps and bounds.  Fiona love your stone. very 3d in its sketching.  Thank you all for the chat and encouragement. Right here goes, to break the ice I will post this little fun thing for now. The dragon is a glass ornament I bought in Wales, It was bought to celebrate my Welsh side ( mums family) and the love of painting. My English side (dads and where I've always lived) felt left out, so I have painted George and the welsh Dragoon saying thank you and having a bit of a paint off.

Alan, that's really good, if you say that's " for now" I can't imagine what will come later! I need to go out today - birthday prezzies to buy for grandson - so hope I get some ideas on the way. See you all later.
Alan I love your George and the Dragon paint off! Very clever idea. Dixie, congratulations on your promotion, onward and upward!
Well here's to us all for getting to the end, so well done everyone. Some great contributions already, lovely daffs, brilliant stone from Fiona, love your George and Dragon Alan, lets see what today brings!!
Last day of January - There were 2 or 3 days I thought I wasn't going to make it to the end -  thank you so much to everybody who joined in and made it such fun - I was a bit worried beforehand it might just be me! Have loved seeing all the sketches - such a huge variety, and so inspiring.  I've also loved the chat - a sort of "virtual art club" at a time and a place that suits us! As there seemed to be some interest in keeping going in February, I've set up another thread in case anybody wants to post just after midnight (won't be me ..).  Look forward to seeing even more lovely work on there.  I have a feeling my posts might be more "daily(ish)" rather than "daily" as I'm going to be busy with other stuff in February. Alan, I love your George and the Dragon paint off!  Made me chuckle out loud.  Now wouldn't if be great if all disputes could be solved by a paint off ....   Beautifully drawn gravestone, Fiona - my guess would be a blacksmith or farrier?  possibly by royal appointment? (or does the crown mean something else?)      Looking forward to see rest of the Day 31 sketches. My Day 31 - a pieris - hoped to draw it yesterday but it was blowing a hooly - today it was still a bit windier than I liked, but managed a quick sketch (probably amused/confused any neighbours/passersby that saw me) - fountain pen and water again.

That’s a lovely pieris Margaret, well drawn. I thought I’d be topical so here’s mine for the day.
