I like those colours Margaret, would look good in a painting. Anjana, the fig on the right, with the slightly foreshortened leg, gives the idea of movement. Paul, nice sketch of the old barn, especially when you sound to be having a busy time with guests. Not cheating Alan, I do feel we always learn something from studying and copying. Your Spanish dancer has got just the stance and balance Linda. I'm not a watercolourist and had to persevere with this one. I've got to have learned something! If only where to start, it was loosely with the background.
for a none watercolourist is made a mighty fine picture.
There have been some very interesting and original sketches/paintings over the month, we are all still here and maintaining enthusiasm and inspiration. It’s done me a favour being involved and I’ve enjoyed it....didn’t think I would stick it to be honest! If there is one thing I’ve learnt over the weeks, it’s that there is something to sketch wherever you are and look. Today’s sketch/drawing is yet another piece for my load of scrap project, the initial set up done on sugar paper with white pastel pencil. The first colouring in bits are done with oils bars, I’m just about to add more work to it. May refresh the picture with the latest parts added later, if the site will let me. Also added the digital sketch for colour references.
Well it now takes almost as long to scroll through a days offerings to add comments as it does to do ones own sketch! Alan, your windchime is lovely, Linda two super sketches of Audrey H and the Spanish dancer-great pose, Marjorie I love those palms, the one detailed drawing and then a soft subtle watercolour, Anjana two lovely stylish ladies,Margaret- simple but very effective landscape, Fiona, your magic shapes are developing well, interesting to follow. Dixie, great character to your old barn. Hope I haven’t missed anyone! We recently had a photographer to give a talk about portraits with camera and/or paint and her son Sam came along to help with projector etc. This is a sketch of him as we were all fascinated by his hair. It’s not a good likeness. I’ve made him tougher looking than he is, so I’ve included my photo to show the hair as no way I could describe it otherwise!

That hair is something else!
Indeed it is Marjorie! Can’t imagine how he does it! x
Loving that crescent moon hair:) The hair products they have, today, is amazing. No, don't use it myself :)

Me neither Carol. I plan to try a painting sometime but will be hard to do it justice. 😊
Hope you are enjoying your film photography weekend, Christopher, that sounds great; hope you have recovered from your very busy weekend Dixie - a really interesting looking barn - looks like it would make a really nice painting; lovely geese Alan; very dramatic figure Linda; a lovely watercolour Marjorie; intriguing project Fiona - interested to see how you progress; great hair Tessa! Tried to do a self portrait - 3 attempts - 2 were downright scary and this one does not look like me at all (I have had that confirmed!) - not least that I have shaved at least 20-30 years of my age (though my hair is still dark and long so that is accurate anyway) - but as this is by far the least scary of the 3, here it is!   (doesn't even look like me when I was young as I didn't have long hair then)

You look a bit cheeky, Margaret!
I was trying not to do my usual scowl of concentration!
You look rather studious Margaret! I think it’s just that look of concentration of the artist doing a self portrait, looking back and fore, up and down. Rather good actually! 👍🏻
