Fantastic work uploaded by everyone as always, we are certainly not struggling for subjects are we? From tap to exotic palm trees, workmen to shetland pony, mountain to seaside, tulips to mouse(so cute with the eyes corrected!) - all great sketches. Hope I haven't missed anyone out. Glad the sun came out for you Marjorie, looks lush - enjoy. Thank you all for your comment on the murmuration sketch, I don't quite know why I started to sketch that way with vertical lines, would like to say I planned it, but it was more luck than design! Today's is a sketch of fuchsias from my own photo, couldn't resist putting a little colour on :-)Love this style of sketch/painting. Just the right amount of colour to make them pop.![]()

Beautifully drawn fuchsias Anjana and I love that little inclusion of colour.
Very sweet little mousy Dixie, especially good eyes!
Good beach scene Christopher with lovely perspective.
I’m off to class later and we have a lady coming to sit for us to paint, so the plan is to do a quick sketch of her first. She comes once a year or so and is particularly difficult to get a good likeness of!

Beautiful fuchsias , nice beach scene, a a lovely digital sketch , so much going on. My offering is of some clay pots, ink well and medicine jars , plus a gin bottle. All of these were recovered from a wrecked frigate off the cost of Gibraltar. The largest of the items has writing on it. They took a lot of cleaning up as the were covered in all sorts.

A great variety of work....smashing. This thread is becoming like the gallery, if you miss a day or so, you'll never catch up. So well done everybody.
When is a sketch not a sketch? Dunno. I went to my art group yesterday for the first time in weeks...events have prevented it. Unfortunately the set subject was 'still life - fruit'. Whilst I'm happy to look at other people's still lives I don't like doing them myself. Everybody had brought fruit in. So I compromised with this Carmen Miranda effort. We had about an hour and a half before time was called and we all looked at our efforts. I used inktense color pencils, which I'm finding a good sketching tool. This is in my A3 sketchbook...so I'm thinking it's a sketch. Maybe an hour and a half or so doesn't count? Won't be putting it in the gallery.

Thank you all for your kind words about my fuchsia. I love your digital sketch Fiona sure no one minds. Look forward to your sketch/painting Tessa, what an interesting array of pots and jars Paul wonderfully arranged and sketched, Lewis I like your take on still life - fruit, very jazzy indeed.

Such a lot of great stuff! Very nice beach sketch Christopher - a real sense of place; beautifuk fuschia Anjana - love the delicate selective colour; like your fun digital sketch Fiona; lovely selection of historic jars etc Dixie - what an interesting find; definitely still life Lewis - if she moved they would fall off! Think you should post it on the gallery :) apologies if I've missed anybody. Day 23! A quick outdoors sketch of some snowdrops - water added inside.

Crikey Lew, that looks like a neck aching hatful of fruit! Still she looks delighted with it. I’d like to see what the rest of your class do with a still life, probably pretty boring. 😂
Lovely snowdrops Margaret, not sure if I’ve seen any in flower yet bu5 they can’t be far away.
We did three ten minute sketches of our model today, from different angles, not great and she looks a bit glum, but fun to do!
I also did two half hour paint sketches which I’ll put on the gallery.

I have only just made it for today’s sketch, had to be a quickie......hope you don’t mind a digital sketch.
Nowhere in particular, a made up scene.
