You know, I think we've got to be improving, all these brain cells working hard😉.
Today has produced some interesting ones and I think we are all, to some extent, inspiring each other . I know that, if I hadn't started this idea of Margaret's, I would never have sketched so much in so short a time. It's a bit like dieting - I'm afraid to stop.
At the art club this morning I did 3 sketches, this one is looking out of the window , the sea is beyond but you can't see it.

Fiona, love your biker jacket ( now get bike done!!! ) we had a Frances (Franny) Barnet when we were courting in the late 50s early 60s, came of it once on a steep hill that it was refusing to climb (late at night, nobody about luckily) sat in middle of road and it took off with my future husband leaving me behind!!! Happy days.
Marjorie that's a lovely pen and wash, a very accomplished sketch.

That’s a beautifully delicate sketch Marjorie, and yes I think you’re right in saying that we are inspiring each other to continue. Wouldn’t want to drop out now, we’re on the home run! I don’t think I’d still be doing one a day if it weren’t for this, so again well done Margaret for starting it off. Wonder if any of us will get beyond January?!

A very delicate line and wash Marjorie, it has a calmness about it, were you in a good place when you did it.
Oh dear Linda. Alas I no longer have the bike, haven’t had one for about seven years or so now, mores the pity. Funny how we give them names, mine was called Bruce the Buell, a 1200cc lightening. He was my favourite of the bikes I’ve had, although my first was a Lambretta scooter called Nessie. Lol...great times!
Thank you Linda.

Great to see how this thread has taken off! Love the discussion as well as the sketches.
Tessa - thanks, you might get fed up of my tulips soon as I've got more!
Linda, I've been called a few things but not Morticia before! I couldn't resist the shapes and colours. Really like your lovely hellebore sketch - ours are still just at the leaf stage.
Lovely to see your heavy horses, Alan - I used to love the Clydesdales at the local agricultural show when I was young. I like your sketch a lot - great memories too.
Fiona, really like your bike jacket - like the limited colour. A very swish jacket - I had a Belstaff waxed cotton (there do seem to be a few ex bikers here on this forum - and, so far, all female!)
Like that lovely delicate sketch, Marjorie, and the subtle tones.
Lewis - re evolution into paintings - I'm planning on doing a proper tulip painting some time - practicing.
I really need to drop into this thread more often! apologies if I've left anybody out.
