Another of my pencil sketches from the arboretum on Friday finished at home with pen and watercolour.
That's a good and different view Tessa, I like the way you appear to be looking up from the ground which gives a great perspective. My sketch today is one from my sketchbook from a while back but these little sketches sometimes come in useful for using in future paintings so cheating a little bit. sketched in the garden 2018
That’s lovely Linda. Is that a box bush behind the flowers? If so we have a similar size and shape one here, one of my favourites.
Thanks Tessa I did spend quite a bit of time on it as I recall. The shrub is a Pittasporum , think I've spelt that right !!
I think you have! Also very attractive. 🙂
Some more lovely sketches - Day 13 already!   Lovely lively sketch Anjana, a real sense of place; beautiful colours, Paul; lovely delicate sketch Linda; Tessa, I really like that strong composition and colours.  Day 13 - dying tulips - they are almost gone but I thought the colour and shapes were lovely.  Watercolour with fountain pen on top.  A2 cartridge.  Unfortunately I got yellow paint on my hand which I then got on the paper - and it won't come off.

We’ve enjoyed your tulips with you Margaret, and without having to buy any! Sad to see them go but you’ve made very good use of them.
Love your dying tulips Margaret shall we call you Morticia now lol,. I've managed this one this afternoon, I took the photo last week from the garden. the Hellebores are just starting to unfurl. If anyone wants to use ref. photo please feel free.
Wow, you go to work, and when I come on here to look you have all posted some brilliant sketches. Been windy on my post round, luckily no rain, although it did threaten a couple of times. Todays sketch is a slight change. It is a pen drawing of a plough team. hope you enjoy.
Lovely sketch Alan, some great detail there!!
Flower ladies! Some lovely garden and flower sketches girls and a very strong looking working team there Alan.  Is anyone noticing an improvement? I think I have, I’m making a mess quicker than before! Today’s sketch....pencil and just an ordinary yellow colouring pencil of my grubby old motorbike jacket, inspired by Marjorie’s red shirt in her latest oil painting. We’ve had some thrills and spills, me and this jacket, I’ve smudged some of the graphite with the yellow to indicate the scuffs and scratches. The chair is a bit iffy.
