Spent an hour this afternoon doing this...please note no wrinkles.  Might have another go.   Gouache on mount board . Quite big.

Really good self portrait to start your thread of, Sylvia :)   I won't be putting my wrinkles in either! (and will call it artistic licence)

That's a cracking picture, Sylvia.  I don't know if it's a good likeness because I've only got that 'eye' in your profile pic to go on...but it's a super painting (all the more so for an hour's work). I might have a go, if events allow.  But if I leave my wrinkles out there'll be nothing left.

I only remember doing one self portrait when I was about 16, and it hung in my parents hall for years. I was quite pleased with it then but haven’t done one since. 😫 That’s a fab start Sylvia, well done you.

How did you set that up Sylvia? Well, I got two mirrors but couldn't manage, in the space, to get a proper view. So I used just one mirror...tried to keep a smile, rather than a fixed piercing stare which you usually end up with. Will have another go when I have time. Apparently, ( from one who knows ) my face is not wide enough at the bottom.

I think Sylvia and Marjorie are been a bit sneaky, pretending that it was going to be difficult, ha just look at the portraits. Its a set up , my best efforts don’t even come as good as this, well done to you both of you. Can’t wait to see what you produce later. The  egg and feathers will certainly have to go now.

Wow, these portraits so far are excellent.  have just got to finish my current one and will then give it a go.  Speed is my issue so I'm going to set myself a challenge of 2 hours.  We'll see....
