Did a quickie with conte sticks then painted over the top. Started without specs then had to use them for the details. On a piece of A 3 ish blue mountboard. Used a mirror.

Excellent work, Marjorie.  Specs can be a problem...the use of them I mean.  I wear reading glasses, can't draw without them, got to take them off to look at something a couple of feet away.  A lot of fussing around, I prefer to work from photos...but I don't use them very often.  You've managed beautifully.

Sylvia, definitely nothing wrong with white hair!  Some folk really suit it, not sure that I will though ..    Love your double portrait, Lewis!   Lovely soft portrait, Linda; and Marjorie, I agree with Lewis and Heather - beautifully done.   I'm another specs wearer - varifocals in my case - hate having to draw the specs in but without them I am so short sighted it is pretty useless!

I agree its a lovely painting Marjorie, love the colours you have used. I also wear the varifocals Margaret, don't know what i'd do without them, might have another go from photo without glasses!!

Varifocals for me too but I don't always wear them, still feel nervous going downstairs. I painted most of mine without specs, then put them on to do the eyes.

Well I just wear ONE contact.... though have a collection of specs EVERYWHERE ...can never find any...so manage with one contact...don’t ask.

Well after all I thought I’d have a go at a sketchy version, very sketchy. Had to wear the specs. Some of it is me but I have no idea whose mouth I’m wearing! I’ll keep trying, it’s sort of addictive once you start. 😫
