I don’t think its a problem posting here I see it as more of look at what I’ve been doing today I don’t think it was sketching in the traditional sense, some of the stuff I’ve put on were not strictly sketches.
I really like what you’re posting Margaret. A sketch to me is something which hasn’t taken days to complete and is or may be a stage before a painting. It doesn’t matter what the media is, you can sketch in pencil, pen, chalk, crayons, inks and paint and probably a lot more. Keep ‘em coming!
You can sketch in paint - no problem at all with that.
Thanks Dixie, Tessa and Robert - that's great!  Certainly when I set up the first couple of monthly challenges, I was aiming at anything quick in any medium but I've been reading some stuff in old art magazines this week which had a different view - and as these paintings have been getting bigger I wondered if I had moved away from "sketching" to "painting" as they may not necessarily lead to a further painting but be an end in itself - though I am still experimenting!   I do like seeing everybody's work in all different formats but still getting to grip with do's and don'ts etc.
Nice to have some debate about sketching v painting in the end if we are producing something, given how people are struggling to paint etc all to the good. Simple sketch be it in paint, ink, pencil or any medium is good. Silly cartoony sketch done for my granddaughters, it’s supposed to be their dad driving the tractor, used a pen that leaked join nose and beard.
Your tractor looks good, Dixie - pity about the leaking pen - hate when that happens!  (in my case, it is usually putting too much water onto the fountain pen ink leading to a great big blotch and possibly some "comment"! )   Your granddaughters should love this.  Are you still getting regular challenges from your granddaughter?
Here’s mine for today, purple clematis outside our front door,  really growing well at the moment!
Amazing sunset Margaret..
Love it Tessa.. for clematis which purple / lavender you used..
Is a digital sketch ok to post?just wondering .. yet to read forum guide though
The form and roundness( is that what you say for the tractor.) of the tractor is so convincing Dixie.. looking good
Nandhini, I used a mix of cerulean blue and alizarin crimson (Windsor & Newton)also some colours from a very old watercolour box which belonged to my dad, and there are no labels left!
