Lovely flowerpots and flowers Tessa. Just in from a wee drive to a nearby village and countryside. Take some some photos but didn’t manage any sketching, disappointing as wanted to sketch an old cart but there were a few people about and I am shy!  Plan to get something done after lunch.

Very  nice thistle Gillian, Tessa you have painted your flowers and pot really well, I can’t see any pencil marks?. Found a 1912 photo of an old lady using a spinning wheel , looked like my old grandma set my self a time of 30 min , managed it in 26  so added a little colour. I like the timer as it makes me concentrate and not fiddle to much. Had a busy day done the shopping and managed 4 sketches, will save some for a rainy day.
More lovely sketches.  Tessa, I particularly like that loose garden watercolour sketch.
Thanks Margaret. Dixie, there were no pencil marks, I meant I was trying not to have too many lines from the brush. I like your spinning lady, reminds me of my ex neighbour who had her own spinning wheel and used to sit in the garden spinning away, very relaxing and not something you see now very often.
Well you succeeded Tessa,  no obvious lines. I keep practicing sketching bits of people, I hope to become better and eventually do a portrait. I’m really taken  with hands, how they look different on each  person, and when used  todo different things. I used a graphite stick for the outline , brush and water to blend for the shading.

Graphite pencil sketch
Your hand drawings are really good and solid Dixie, not always easy. Gillian I always like a good bridge and nice rough landscape. I’ve just been trying to do this abstract landscape from imagination, good fun.
Very nice sketch Gillian and thats a lovely abstract landscape Tessa. Another study of a hand from me today did this last evening used water soluble graphite pencils. Might try it in watercolour.
Another good hand Dixie. This is called ‘digging the garden’ otherwise known as chatting over the fence! I think some gardening did go on...maybe not a lot, but at least at two metres!
I like the bit of colour added to your sketch Tessa , makes such a difference. A small boat sketch from me I did a couple of sketches a few days ago and forgot to post this one .
Hi everyone, The standard of everyones sketching is getting higher and higher. Dixie Your hands are brilliant, whenever I do them they end up like sausages. Apologies again for missing most of the month, but here is my effort for today from this months leisure painter The broadway cook shop. This was painted using inktense pans.
