Some of us have been sketching on and off since 1st January and I intend carrying on if only a couple of times a week, taking off the pressure of a daily offering while keeping our hand in. Also I feel it’s important as lockdown eases to keep in touch and to know how everyone is doing. Pop in with a sketch or a planned work if you can to keep it at least partly art related! I’m hoping to get back into oil painting more, which has dwindled recently. Now I can get out more I may be able to hide myself somewhere to paint plein air which is one thing I’ve been missing. I have been working on the eight page sketch pad which Sylvia sent me earlier in the year which is nearly complete. I had planned to do scenes around my home village but that went out the window obviously so I’ve adapted it to scenes from my morning walk sketches during the last few months, and will hopefully show soon.
I'd wondered if anybody would set this up!  Thank you Tessa :)    Like you are saying, I will probably continue to post, but less often.  At the moment I'm doing some sketching or painting every day but not all suitable for posting e.g. just a little bit of a painting, and also some days I just don't want to spend the time on the laptop!  (especially when it is beautifully sunny).  Now that lockdown is just starting to ease here in Scotland (just a smidgen as out outbreak was slightly later I think, so easing later) the weather forecast is changing for the worse!   It has been glorious - I feel so sorry for the folk who have been shielding(and still are up here) and have been unable even to go in their gardens. Hope you get out to do some plein air soon - look forward to seeing the sketches, also the results of using Sylvia's hand made sketch pad.
Margaret, I didn’t realise people weren’t even allowed in their garden? Seems overly harsh!
You are a star Tessa, so pleased you set it up to run again, I would have missed the banter with you all. I will have to get my think head of the shelf, as I put it away last night. I was just thinking what shall I do today, art wise that is. Margaret I hope you are able to get out and about soon, keep safe everyone.
Happy June everyone. It's a wonderful idea to carry on Tessa. While I haven't joined any sketching challenges , I have enjoyed seeing everyone's work.
Just managed to get into site by my phone again, tried countless passwords, must write it down so I don't forget it again 😁 pleased you are still carrying on with this thread, will post every now and then, in the meantime carry on with your sketches everyone and keep safe, still think it's too early, only time will tell 🙏😏
Great to see we are carrying on with the thread! I would miss the chats. Lockdown easing here in Spain, all be it very slowly, So looking forward to trying to get a little more inspiration from a little further from my house and patios!  Keep safe everyone
Tessa - I'm not sure but I think some people most at risk weren't but I might be wrong.
My offering for the beginning of a June is small pencil and watercolour sketch. These tiny little creatures are so light and agile, they hardly bend the stems on even thinner plants . I painted the stem and mouse only as I wanted them to be the main feature . I set the timer for ten minutes, and overran by 30 seconds, so quite pleased 😀.

That's lovely Paul
That is so charming, Dixie - lovely and delicate. My first pos on the June thread  - very quick watercolour of RSPB Mersehead from my own photo.

Goodness me Dixie and Margaret you’re up and running already! What a sweet little mouse with his tail wrapped around! Lovely use of strong colour in your watercolour Margaret. You have an endless source of inspiration with RSPB. I see our local arboretum has just reopened so am considering a visit there soon for a change.
