"Watching you" a recent watercolour image but think I need to alter the baby Emus feathers as should be horizontal instead of vertical... been working imaginatively and so sneaked to look at reference photo and it is a continual horizontal sequence,,, unless the chick has developed it's feathers? Puzzles whether or not to start another one unless I can erase the vertical zigzags? It's just a sketch in a visual diary so might see if I can erase or maybe add dark feathers? 🤔![]()

Here is the other sketch I attempted last week and so maybe the one I sketched yesterday looks a bit premature? Anyway it's just a few preliminary drawings but takes a while to fathom out where to place in the pictorial book? Strangely enough these images seem to be easier to draw mid afternoon so maybe it's why the previous one looked a bit hay why as it was sketched early morning and maybe the Emus were still asleep in my mind, lol! Have a great week everyone ☺️🌈🤗![]()

Andrew Good that you got out there and came back satisfied. It's a bit different to your previous works that had strong architectural or design themes. Is this a new project or a one off?Owen - Honestly I just wanted to make marks on paper and I ended up drawing what was in front of me. I've done a few of these over the past few years which you can find in my 'Experiments and Sketches' gallery. Yesterday I left my Welsh wife to sob in front of the rugby and went for a walk with my sketch book. It was cathartic for me, but no so my wife who keeps muttering 'it will be better next year'. Angela - Nice emus - I find it hard to paint from imagination, I tend to need a reference and there's no harm in using one so long as you don't slavishly copy the photo - I don't see the point in that, (except maybe for portraits, and I don't do many of them anyway). I'm waffling here so I'll stop now.

Glad you like wee Puss cat. He was called Jinx and crossed the beloved pet bridge many years ago. Sam would not tolerate a feline intruder...some super sketches on here, says she blethering on.
Angela if you are considering a book with your star Emus ,mySam doggo wrote a book if you want to pick my brains ( I did the hard work he just dictated).
