That’s very dramatic Gillian. I like it.
Looks like I have extremely long thin fingers 🤔 Tessa Gwynne on 03/01/2023 11:46:10 That's the most difficult task! To take pencils out! Hahahaaa ;) I love your sense of humor Tessa! (fingers ;)
... so a pastel sketch  didn’t take long Gillian Cooke  03/01/2023 16:49:00 Impressive!!!

Start as I mean to go on I say ( can but be positive! ) so a pastel sketch  didn’t take long and really experimenting with them!  Gillian Cooke on 03/01/2023 16:49:00
Regardless of how long it took , this is a really impressive pastel sketch Gillian.
Great pastel sketch Gillian and a lovely scene. I took a note out of Marjorie's book and did a bit of live sketching of myself in a mirror. I didn't pay too much attention to detail but I think I've made myself look like Morticia.😁 I'm looking forward to practising portraits again.

I'm looking forward to practising portraits again. Denise Cat on 03/01/2023 22:08:48 I think a daily sketching it's all about pleasure to enjoy drawing, rather than being frustrated of getting detail just right ;) Well done Denise.

If you don’t make mistakes you’ll never improve your drawing skills… that’s how we improve, and there’s no short cut or quick fix in this discipline! It’s observe and draw every day. Well done Denise, that’s a decent job and so much more rewarding, not to mention enjoyable, than copying from a photograph of yourself!
I so agree, and it’s a good likeness Denise.
You can certainly tell it’s you Denise. I like to paint myself without the specs so I “skim over” the ravages of time😆

Definitely a  likeness to you Denise , the thought of doing a portrait make me nervous. I decided to do a portrait of a onion , it didn’t complain about how long I took nor that it wasn’t a good look alike , good subject to do. A couple of flower just sketching  different things for practice
A small point Denise… the eyes should be looking at you in a SP!  Okay, they don’t have to be I suppose, but if you’re looking in a mirror they would be… I’m nitpicking but it’s all about the detail!
