Great sketching of wildlife Alan and a beautiful view from the window Tessa. Your imaginary sketch is also very interesting Diane. Reading your post Diane, it has made me consider if art classes is something I should also be looking at. I wouldn’t know where to start or what type of classes to look for. I’ve been doing watercolour for six months, started acrylics two months ago and would really like to try oils. I am all over the place. I would be unsure of a good starting point for myself. What sort of art classes might you consider Diane if you take any. I have tons to learn and classes would help.
Great sketch Diane and love the window scene Tessa. I agree about having a group to go to, ours is also about half the members but it’s good to be back. Nothing to show at the moment, decided it was time for another pony in my life so all my time spent scouring online for something suitable for ‘mature’ lady. How did that bit happen!🤔
Katy, that is so fantastic, to have a pony, you will have to do a sketch when you find one, how wonderful to be looking for such a thing.
Thanks Denise, it is exciting. Lost my last pony 2 years ago and didn’t think I would have another but this strange year has changed my mind! I will sketch when I get him. Still finishing a painting of my first horse, lost him in 1993 and started the painting in 1996. Not quite happy with it but for fun I will post it
Oh wow Katy, I love it, what a handsome fellow.

I just did this quick sketch. Now, I am fairly new to painting but very new to drawing, in fact this will be my third sketch ever. I wouldn’t have even tried if I hadn’t come across this post. Now, I now it’s not very good, I wouldn’t expect it to be but I seem to be drawn to moving figures for some reason. I’m not really sure why. It is very tough trying to create something moving. Here it is anyway and I hope it is cropped alright.
You don’t realise how naturally talented you are!
Denise it really good no need for apologies , as Katy said you have a very good natural talent. Figures are not easy to do, you have managed the well.
You are very kind Katy, I see many others as talented but it's a word I don't associate with myself. I know I always try very hard to learn and improve because it is new and exciting to me and I am eager to learn as much as possible. In fact since I picked a brush up six months ago, I never stop thinking about it. I guess we are all like that. I really love it, like nothing else.
Denise don’t be so critical of yourself! As Paul says you clearly have a natural talent and you aren’t afraid to have a go!
Thanks Gillian, I will certainly have a go, I just wish I knew what I was doing half the time. I enjoy practicing though.
Eventually a sketch to post. Las Granadas ( pomegranates to you and me ). They are the the emblem of a Granada too. Lots grown here.
