Looks pretty good to me Alan. Sylvia, your holiday sketch is wonderful, rich and colourful, and Linda’s lovely snowdrops, a super composition. I was reading an old SAA magazine with an article by Martin Kinnear on Constable and thought his oil painting would make a good sketch of a stormy day landscape. I was also trying out a new box of pencils.
I think it's great Alan that you've got into portraits - and a selfie is one of the hardest. First thing - you can tire yourself out trying for too long ( been there ) so a break of a couple of days can make all the difference. It is definitely you but your expression is not as relaxed as in the photo. If you don't mind me saying... look at how the eyes line up with each other and the mouth usually takes the same angle. In the photo your head is tilted down slightly to the right, so, accordingly, everthing else is too, eyes, end of nose, mouth and ears.

Thank you for your comments Marjorie, I’m glad for the advice. That’s what I like about this group, and it’s the only way to improve. Now you pointed them out I can see what you mean. In my mind, and the initial set up, they were nearly right, but as fussed and fiddled I think I lost focus. More coffee required. Thanks again. At least you could see me in their.
Alan, another good attempt at a selfie - definitely recognisable though (like most selfies in my experience!) not flattering.  Good advice from Marjorie.  Beautifully drawn, Tessa. Quick A5 sketch of Jedburgh Abbey from one of my own photos.

Nice one Margaret. I can see a page of music on the right hand side, and no I haven’t touched a drop!
Just a quick sketch idea from a holiday ad on T.V. Noting serious
It's getting late so will comment tomorrow. "A boy and his cactus" - the invalid, now recovered, pictured with "Spike", his pride and joy. According to Lewis, it's all a bit " catterwump".
Methinks the recovered invalid will grow a lot faster than his cactus! Lovely drawing Grandma.
Some lovely sketches from everyone again and yes the month has really gone quick. Been trying Manga again so here's a work in progress with just a HB pencil I have to ink in yet and perhaps colour with art markers I have just ordered some new ones.
Hi everyone, I am new to this site and just trying to get my head around everything but I am loving all your works.  You all seem to be having a wonderful time together. Just in a few minutes here, I have had a smile, a giggle and feel happy I registered.
Wasn't totally happy with my cone so did another sketch of a Squirrel.

I think your squirrel is really wonderful.  He must have smelt that pine cone and came out specially to investigate and you captured him so well Christopher.
