Morning everyone, sorry about getting Newbiggin mixed up with Altringham Marjorie, I had read it wrong on your sketch. Some good pieces gone in again, Mr Fox from Alan, good vase sketch from Anjana, Paul, lots of lovely detail in the old car, no time today but will pick something from the sketch book later, hope you all have a good day.

Good Afternoon, a good start by everyone. Love the car Dixie, and Anjana they are nice pots. Thanks for the comments on my fox, I really enjoyed painting him. For todays sketch something slightly different. Last year I was given the chance to spend the day at a Heritage railway in Leicestershire. great place lots to see and do, and a ride on a steam train is always fun. here is a drawing of one of the platforms based on how it was in 1945. picture is
artist pencils.

That's a great railway sketch Alan and love all the little details like the posters, suitcases and the lady with that lovely pram, mine is with the 1940s era with a sketch from a 1940s book I had bought as a present a few years ago, I posted this some time ago on the gallery so some of you might remember it.

Your Heritage railway day sounds great fun Alan and a lovely painting to show for it. I especially like the heap of cases or trunks. And the lamp alongside them.
Linda, that’s really different, and so well drawn. Love the little child hanging on to dad.
Marjorie that’s another lovely landscape. Looks an impressive building.
I did go to art class this morning but got on with a painting, so my sketch for today was done on a walk this afternoon of a tractor and roller at the local cricket club. Drawn in pen and finished at home with watercolour.

I thought January’s eclectic mix of subjects were great but I think February’s are going to surpass them. I don’t see any tentative marks or sketches, but a confident display of five weeks of practice and hard work.
I feel quite ashamed of myself for copping out....lol. Good luck for the rest of the month and keep up the excellent work!

Finally had time to catch up! More super sketches. Anjana, these pots do look lovely - excellent confident sketch; Dixie - great old car - they had much more style than today's vehicles I think; Alan - I really like your station sketch - lovely detail; very evocative sketch, Linda; that Priory looks a great subject, Marjory - hope it wasn't too cold today; and excellent tractor, Tessa. I had now better clear my table and do a sketch myself!
Fiona, plenty of time for you to join in if you want!
Finally, here is my sketch! Fountain pen with water; plus a small amount of watercolour pencil. Somewhere in Fife (East Neuk I think) from a very old photo of mine (early eighties I think). Must admit I left all the cars out though!
