I am so enjoying seeing everyone's favourite paintings and learning why.  There is some great artwork here, keep them coming!
It's lucky I put mine on yesterday because my iPad has " died". It's ancient. All my work is on there and we  no longer use or back up the computer. Have ordered another, hopefully we can get everything back via the cloud - if we remember our passwords correctly! Only the phone now☹️ update! Got it going again! A touch of magic( internet advice) and we're in business again😁😁

What a fantastic idea for this thread. Although, I have to admit it is hard to think of just one or choose between paintings and drawings.  However, during a rather dark period of my life a few years ago, when art became a much needed distraction and positive form of therapy, I chose to learn by copying paintings by artists I admired, one of those being Roland Hilder. I had always been intrigued by how he managed to paint such wonderful skies in watercolour. So, I tried to emulate one of the paintings in his book and, although it didn't come close to his rendition, I felt I had learnt a lot from it and enjoyed painting it. It's a winter scene.
This was written by Linda Wilson some time ago. ( thanks for starting this thread Linda)  so I added the silly drawing  Farewell Feline Friend".  Tiger, Tiger, my beautiful boy, Why did you think, a mouse is a toy?  Mice now roam free and fear no more ,  The close embrace of your claw and jaw.  Tiger, Tiger, who I held so dear, Is pussy heaven as good as here?  Who strokes you now, when you fret? Who dries your paws, when you are wet?  Tiger, Tiger, who tread so light No bird or chick escaped your sight.  They chirp for joy now they need not flee, Since you lie there in your cemetery

What a wonderful poem and such a great little painting.
That’s a great one Sylvia, I remember it from the gallery. I could mention another... think Greek Santa on a bike, he hasn’t made an appearance for some time!
Greek Santa is taking a well earned rest Alan. I did illustrate  Something Old  Something New  Something Borrowed  Something Blue
Lovely stuff Sylvia.  Nice to see them again.  A little bit odd our gallery, we post things once and that's it...apart from forum themes like this.  I know we can't keep posting the same pictures, but it still seems odd to me that pictures should be seen once and then locked away in our own galleries.  You have to be really keen to wade through a person's gallery. I accept there's no practical alternative...but...
There really have been some lovely paintings on this thread and I have waded through some peoples galleries as well.  I wish now I has asked for your best 3.
Thank you Lew ....and thanks Linda for starting it.
I’ve really enjoyed looking through these and agree with Lewis that it’s a shame most paintings appear once on our galleries and then are mostly ‘locked away’.  Linda, perhaps we could have a ‘monthly favourite’ on the forum, maybe themed so that one month it could be favourite portraits, another month favourite abstracts or still life etc. etc.  Just a thought, if people would like to keep it going!
That seems like a good idea Jenny.  But anyone can start a new topic..........Feel free....
