This is my favorite. This is because, it turned out to be much more of a challenge than I had first anticipated. I like the look of withered looking things standing alone. I'm not saying It's my best, there is need for much improvement but it's my favorite. I would hope to do a similar painting in the future and do a much better job of it.

Nice one Denise . This is my favourite because it the first ship I ever painted , looking back it ok but the cables could be better . I have other that I like a bit better bu5 overall this comes out top .

I understand what you mean about a challenge Denise.  Good stab at a tank, but they are not my favourite thing. Paul, that is a cracking ship - lovely limited palette.

Difficult but this is one of my favourites. A quick oil sketch, straight on to unprimed mdf( unfortunately) of my daughter when she was choosing reading glasses for the first time. She discounted these - too Edna Everidge. I remember feeling elated when I did this because it just seemed to work straight away, one of those rare times. I also love painting her ( and my grandchildren ), I know I smile while I'm in the process.

Now there's a question - I'll have to think about that.  On the whole, I decry my own work, compare it with others, and find myself wanting; but - there must be one or two that I actually like!  I'll search them out.

I did this some time ago sitting in Lady Bagots drive a small distance away.,I like it because it just “ worked” . I do a bluebell pic most years this is my very favourite .

This is a tough one, ask me tomorrow and I'll probably make different choices.  I expect that goes for all of us.  I'm afraid I'll have to pick three.  I do cartoons, the occasional realistic painting, and I used to like digital (can't do it now). This was part of a group of eight 6 x 4 drawings of Dickens characters, it's the only one I got right first time (well, I thought so).  Typical of my stuff...a drawing that's been coloured.  Not sure that I'd call them paintings. Bill Sykes...I thought it the best thing I did that year. For a realistic drawing/painting I go back to 2011.  This was painted with a cheap Reeves set of watercolours...you'll know them, about eight colours in a tin, cost about a fiver.  I like this because it's odd, and I like odd...trouble is, they don't always work out. Girl with toucans and parrots... I used to love working in digital, don't do it now, hands too wobbly so everything takes so long for me.  I loved the endless fiddling you could do. Dwarf...digital...a pen drawing 'painted' in Photoshop Elements... Actually my favorite picture is a copy of a Manet painting, don't think they count. This thread has already thrown up a few surprises, look forward to seeing more.

My favourite painting, the only one I wouldn’t part with, was done some years ago and is not one of my own designs, but was based on a painting by the Scottish Colourist J.D. Fergusson.  It was done at an art club workshop after a talk we had on the Colourists.

This is my favourite.  It's one of the first portraits I painted.  It's special to me because he's a very good friend - an ex Jesuit priest, Jamaican and with the kindest gentlest aura of any man I've met.  He's married to a good friend of mine so there's no funny business!  I also like it because of its soft muted colours and I believe I've captured his essence.
