Alan, yes I did initially get that message against my entry - I only submitted one painting this year - which is why I emailed Parker Harris to query it. They came back and said it all looked OK, so I didn’t worry about and it does now say ‘complete’, although I have made a few small changes and saved it again a few times since then. One of the few instructions there were said to enter Save and Finish when an entry was complete, but I couldn’t see an option to select Finish, so have assumed saving it is enough.)

I haven't entered yet but I have used Arttops for a different open exhibition in the past and found it annoying but very similar to other ones (like Mall Galleries). They do have a FAQ page for details of image file size etc (https://artopps.co.uk/opportunities/talp25/faqs). Hope that's of use. The Rules, contact, FAQ etc are in a menu at the top on my laptop in a pale blue on white that's a bit hard to see and also vanishes once I scroll so I have to refresh. I can se why they are using it, means less resources needed as it's a third party solution that a lot of art competitions use but yes, it does have it's niggles.

Thanks Gary, I see that now, albeit they’re pretty basic faq answers, the file size is indeed stated as 5mb max.
I’ve tried to add a jpeg that is 3.6mb, and it won’t accept it, so I’ve had to reduce it to under 3mb.
The judges will be viewing all submitted artworks in low resolution!
That doesn’t account for why my artists statement and supporting image files kept disappearing, but on checking just now, they all seem to be there! Hallelujah…
I’m still getting the message ‘incomplete’ on my three submissions, so we’ll cross that hurdle when I check out finally.
Nothing related to this issue on the faq…
I have now got the email address and a phone number, albeit Jenny did say that it was an answerphone!
That hasn’t come as any great surprise…

I’ve just received a response back from Parker Harris, the event organisers.
A quick response no less, so I’ll give them credit for that.
They’ve sorted out all the issues that I had, and actually gone into my entries to make corrections, simple things like removing a decimal point from the canvas sizes.
Quite how else to express the thickness of a board at 1.5 cm is a mystery to me…however, I now know for next time! That’s if there will be a next time…
Anyway, I’m grateful for their help and quick response, let’s hope I can check out without any further issues… watch this space!
This might be helpful to others… I’ve just had this reply to my question of where is the send button! We’re supposed to know that it sends automatically!
Hi Alan,
Once everything is complete, the entries submit automatically so there is no need to do anything more.
Best wishes,
PH team
