Wow, I’ve missed a few days on this theme as other things going on, and I found the adverts so irritating, but now I’ve got rid of them, I will try to do a sketch later today. I won’t comment on every sketch I’ve missed as too many but I’m always impressed at the variety of subjects and style, from gum tree to old cars and skulls, lovely street and cafe scenes and even a sweet Christmas robin!

Your granddaughter must have inherited your artistic genes Tessa, wonderful team effort. I have been trying out some very basic figure drawing from a tutorial. I'm trying to learn a bit more about movement in the figures. I think I will cotton on quickly as I really enjoyed doing it. I will probably continue with it the rest of the week when I'm not painting to get m

I’ve had a few days off from sketching, so haven’t posted anything for a while. There have been some lovely sketches posted whilst I’ve been away.
My latest is a pen and wash sketch from a photo I took a few weeks ago (between lockdowns) of someone’s garden on the beach at Camber Sands.

Thanks everyone for your kind comments. My sketch today is pure watercolour. Again, it’s from a photo - taken in January this year. Strangely, it was warm sunny day and the light on the Thames made it seem like summer.
I started this as a watercolour exercise to see what would happen if I just directly applied colours and only mixed then on the paper. It was mainly done with french ultramarine and sepia, with a little bit of yellow and alizarin crimson here and there.

Another fabulous watercolour Paul. I usually put a lot of detail into paintings and take time over them, however I do occasionally set my self the task of producing a painting with minimal lines , for this I us two to give the path perspective. I used to do a lot of wet in wet and what I call fast painting, time set for this was 15 minutes on the timer, I stopped after about 12. Also used the left over paint in my pallet.
