I wondered when Christmas was going to creep in. Lovely cards, Hilary. Once again a great cityscape, Paul, and I like the cafe scene. My finished study of the boat is in the gallery, so decided to capture the interesting bark on part of the gum tree at the front of the garden for today's sketch. A bit of pencil, grey markers and watercolour. It's a bit of a grey day here so the colours are a little flat.
Thanks Ron. I like the texture of the on the tree. This is the painted sketch from last night. One of my favourite coffee shops in Folkestone.
Hilary, love your hand made Xmas cards and Ron and Paul, great sketches. I'did a quick practice with skulls tonight. Not very good tonight but I'm just trying to get proportions right rather than any detail at this point.
Paul, the cafe scene looks great with the colour added. Great shadows really show the depth of the bookcases. Denise, your skulls and hands are looking good. Have you ever come across Andrew Loomis books? They’re old and can often be found online (freebies), but he does one about drawing head and hands that may be useful.
Thanks Ron, I haven't come across him but I will look on your recommendation.
Thanks Denise and Ron.  Denise, the skulls are looking good. I hope they’re not for Christmas cards. Ron, I might look up Andrew Loomis myself. I started the year trying to improve my drawing of people, but I’m still struggling with hands and feet.
Some really good sketches posted. An old banger from me .

Model A! Nice Paul 👍
Not a skull tonight but a face, can you believe it. Back to the skulls and hands tomorrow though, great sketches everyone.
Sorry haven’t been very productive but been busy with getting a car as desperately needed my own transport! But today I have gone a wee bit festive! Quick sketch in pencil and intense pencils plus wash of water
Like the car Paul and the face is good Denise. Gillian, the robin is so Christmassy - you seem to have mastered the Inktense pencils for sure. My sketch today is watercolour on cartridge paper again from another old photo that I took in Edinburgh a couple of years ago. These two ladies were going up the steps in Milnes Court. A real climb, so I think I’ll call it “Nearly There”.
