Thanks everyone. I like the lettuce leaf Paul - was it wet?
Like the people sketches Paul, and Dixie I hope you had something else to go with your lunch! Gillian, look forward to seeing your coastal sketches, which reminded me of some photos I took on a short break to Devon in 2019 which I thought would make a good painting at some stage. This is the end of the beach at Budleigh Salterton.

Thanks Tessa. I like the landscape - in fact, I might give one a go myself.
I got a new A4 sketchbook the other day with really solid paper (170gsm). So I thought I’d give it a go for a landscape sketch with plenty of watercolour. It seems to work fine, provided washes are kept to a minimum. This was taken from a photo of heading into Bergen in 2019.
Nice landscape Tessa will make a great painting! That looks quite detailed Paul. Very dramatic too. I have just done this sketch plus some wash with Inktense pencils. On the sketch the horizon was ok but the editing tweaked th paicture making the horizon to become off line!
Lots of great sketches this month already. Well, I’m determined to get back on the easel so I’ve included a sketch that I am hoping to turn into a painting. I’m trying the minimalist approach and reducing the amount of subject to a point where I think it’s still recognisable. It’s from a photo taken at Thornham some time ago.
Fabulous sketches over the last few days.  I really love your swan & lettuce Dixie.  Paul your cafe scene and St marks are wonderful.  Like your landscape Tessa.  Gillian, thats a really unusual subject of the whalebone.  Ive been following some tutorials online to get me back into regular drawing and painting, here’s one from the Art Tutor site.  It’s a scene apparently from the Isle of Man.
Thanks Gillian, Ron and Hilary.  Gillian, I like the whalebone in Inktense. I’ve got a set myself, but haven’t really got on with them. However, I like what you’ve been able to achieve, so might give them another go. Ron, always like paintings and drawings of boats - hope the painting turns out well. I’d love to see it once you’ve done. Hilary, great painting. It looks like you’re getting plenty out of the online tutorials. They sound good and the results are too. Anyway, today I decided to do some pen and wash. My sketch is of the corner of Fleet Street and Chancery Lane - one of my old haunts.

Brilliant work Paul.
Wow. some fantastic sketches/paintings from everyone, really top notch. Nothing so fantastic from me though, I've been trying to learn how to draw hands, this is how my progress has gone, I've done a few more as well. I'm still bashing away at the skulls. My Vibrant Oils book came yesterday, so I've been having a good read through that. I'm hoping to paint tomorrow.
Denise, don’t underestimate what you’ve done. Drawing hands is horribly difficult and you’ve done a great job. Your bald friend is also very good.
Thanks Linda.
