Lovely sketches Robert, Tessa, Dixie and Alan - it is great to see this challenge is still on the go.  I'm still sketching daily just mostly doing stuff for the Daily Photo sketch at the moment.  Hope to post here soon and will pop in occasionally to see your sketches too.  I'm glad you took over the mantle of starting this thread Tessa :)
Nice one Tessa.and Alan. Today is a sketch of a heavy recovery truck, my dad drove these when he was in the RAF. I managed to get a chance to drive one from Stirling to Leeds in 1967, hard work.
Really good Alan. I love otters! And Dixie, another super truck. Glad there are still a few of us hanging on here!

This is a sketch of The Pembrokeshire coast taken from my 2020 calendar, being the photo for April. I’d love to be able to go there now (or anywhere!) but I guess it’ll wait. One of the things I find most difficult at present is not being able to just pop out or jump in the car and go off for the day. Patience needed, we are better off than a lot of people, so follow the rules and Stay Home!
Here’s a sketch I did a while back of Daisy. I was having a tidy of ‘stuff’ and came across my sketch book.......not sketched since 2018 😱 Perhaps I should start again
That very good Ellen, you should take it up again and join us here.
Thank you, Dixie. I sketch rarely now, even when I paint, it’s straight in with the paints. Ellen
You definitely should Ellen, this is lovely! If I’m painting I also go straight in with the paint but I’ve enjoyed this sketch a day and do think it’s benefitted me.
If I am painting a landscape it straight in with the paint brush, boats, trucks etc I do a sketch/ line drawing of the main item. Painting vehicles and boats doesn’t always lend itself to going in with the brush, particularly watercolour I find, but other may have a different opinion. But sketching regularly does definitely benefit.
I guess I was thinking of oils which is my main medium for painting, but of course I do more pen and wash lately so yes I do draw first then.
Today is from a photo taken a few years ago, my hand and granddaughters hand.
Glad you are all sketching away, there have been some great additions. Here is a little Donkey
