Keep us a slice of that cake, Peter.  Men! never about when you want them :) The flowers add a delicate touch. Thankyou for the lovely comments on the Renoir, everyone.  I do believe this thread is successful because it is a fun thread. No need to worry about perfection just get in there and paint.
My “ artistic” outlet before painting was enjoying decorating cakes….these were more recent, quickly done but still enjoyable.

Well, to be honest I don't have a favorite. Being a greedy git, I like them all, but those chocolate buttons are very tempting, Marjorie.

Your Renoir was great and I liked Peters cake. Marjorie I enjoy a challenge and will have a go at most things set.
What a fantastic response to Marjorie’s challenge, some superb work posted . I haven’t joined in as I am struggling with both the heat and a lot of pain at the moment , just enough energy to what I’m doing and getting around. Look forward to seeing some more great painting, sketching, etc .
I'm sorry to hear that Paul. The heat certainly doesn't help when you are feeling like that.  Carol is absolutely right, we're just having fun.
Well some of the comments have certainly made me laugh! As to my building pic…I’m thinking about it….because it’s hot, would an igloo do? ……perhaps not.
Paul - you've answered my question here posed under your new painting.  Sorry to hear you're feeling so struck by the heat, and sad about the pain - with which I empathize completely: too much heat is bad for those of us with muscular-skeletal conditions, too cold is just as bad: a balance between the two is too rare.  Keep yourself hydrated - I know there's an obvious downside to that, but I think it helps nonetheless, and it's the advice I got from the NHS.
Sorry to read you are in pain, and this is irritated by the heat of the day, Dixie, not that comfortable by night, either. Yesterday, I parked up under the trees took my boots and socks off and stood in the stream, not a lot of water in there but such a welcome relief for five minutes. Take care everyone looks like another scorcher today.

Yes Marjorie, an igloo will be perfect, that's where my groom has gone!

Great idea Marjorie, it’s keeping the brain awake in this sluggish weather. Some wonderful examples of work on subjects which would  either not be of interest, or which we would think is beyond our capabilities……in my own case that is. I managed a quick 40 minutes yesterday evening once it was cooler but I can’t say it’s one I concentrated on, or one of my best……as you can tell by ALL the mistakes 🫣 I think I may have added too larger photo, I’ll put it on the gallery as well.
Teapot meets Cézanne Fiona! Well done! I’ll go and look on the gallery. Thinking about my “ buildings” one now….thanks Norette! I’m looking forward to it actually.
Nicely done Fiona. I have been mulling over my harbour scene but not started yet. Tomorrow is art group so I will do something then!
