I'm starting new portrait. I wasn't practicing free hand sketching, therefore my attempts are always off - but I like to think, that every each time I'm improving... It's a basic first sketch, where I'm trying to outline the subjects, and make a guide for the next stages.

Were you wanting critique or suggestions?  Not that I have any at this stage, but we don't like to jump in with advice if it's not been specifically requested (doesn't always STOP me, but I do try to hold back).
It looks a good start to me and I’d be interested to see the next stages.  Welcome to the Forum, and I would say that you will get more comments and interest if you put your real name.

Thanks Robert - it's very smart reply indeed, as sometimes I'm getting advice, that is not supposed to be given, as because I just did block in some colour over particular spot, and advice comes - it's too dark or such... Lol 😅 It's never too good being too hurry to give advice - and you wisely aware of this fact Robert. Thank you.

Thank you for keen words Tessa. This portrait is very risky task to me, because my wife is never happy to see herself on any photo, and this basic sketch is already upsetting her, so she's picking up on it already, pointing out what she thinks is not right 😅 I'm not here for a fame at all dear Tessa.. You and Robert have already made my day writing those keen words for me... I will be very appreciated for even single reply - always. If I'd love somebody's efforts, his nickname wouldn't stop me to share my feelings. Once I've been suggested to change my email address, when applying for new job, because that person didn't like it... Well, I didn't get that job too... 😅 I'd say - it's impossible to please everybody, whatever you do, whoever you are, there's always somebody against that... My nickname it's a mix of important things to me. Pog(on) - it's the Estate I was born. Art(ur) - it's my name, but works for art making too, and it's short of my name obviously, so couple of things is locked up into these 3 letters here. AsS'er - it's nothing else, but my best try to pair up - Assault Skater... Assault - WHY?    It comes from a skater based in Toronto Canada, who I'm following on YouTube... From his point of view we (skaters) assaulting every object with our skate wheels. Whenever it's a kerb, or pavement tile, or street asphalt, our kitchen floor... We do hit it with a great force, aggressively.., causing minor damage/scratch each time. I like this unique point of view, thinking this way, of what I cause to the surface I'm rolling on...    Skating has lots common things to the painting if you think about... We need to focus on it, we need to learn, we need to educate ourselves, we need practicing it, and yet there's lots to improve and discover new things within... Two years ago I wanted to learn it, which was greatest challenge ever, as I was 48, and not so young anymore...  It took me nearly 6 months to master how to skate, and then slowly improving of how to go down the street and don't kill myself...  Everywhere around my house is up or down... I'm over 50 now, and I'm proudly commuting every day for 9miles in total, to get to work and back, any whether, wet or dry... I'm probably the only skater around my town, as I've never seen any other on the streets... I'm commuting every day, improving skills, and trying keep fit and stay healthy by doing so... Yes, my nickname is bonded to what I am, it means a lot to me, it's very personal. Thank you Tessa 😉

First things  first I like what you have achieved with your portrait so far and look forward to seeing it develop. Now your certainly a youngster compared to Robert , Sylvia and myself that’s for sure. Don’t every be afraid to try out new things it’s what keeps you young of mind if not body just go for it . See it’s, like it , do it and pick the pieces up after if you need too. Enjoy your art and enjoy yourself.
Thanks for the explanation Art, and I’m impressed by the skating also! I see now you have the right name for this site. I do hope you’ll continue with the portrait despite what your wife thinks!
I like your explanation Pog…….Enjoy yourself here. That’s what art should be about.

Thank you Paul 😉 I'm a bus driver, and elderly people usually say greetings when boarding my bus - good morning young man! Lol... It's making me smile 😉 Thank you. Because I'm dressing up like a speed skater, this is how I commute - on speed skates (low cuff), I'm standing out the crowd you can imagine... I'm receiving mixed attitude from public. Some abusing me, wishing me die, some other saying - I'm legend, lol... I'm trying ignore road abuse, and being appreciate greetings... As I said before - I am not skating for enybody else, but myself. I'm not out the streets to please anyone, but to do what matter to me. I am not changing anyone, and I'm not letting no-one change me... If we all could pay basic respect to the others around us, the world would be much better for sure. Thank you Paul for keen comment.

Thanks , lol 😅 She is my worst critic for sure 😅 The nose too big, the eye too low, the lips ... ... And so on 😅 Lol 😉 You see Tessa... Artur Adamczyk means rather nothing to me... There's no any meaning included within... In my point of view it's something like a passport number, driving licence number?, that you are given, and can be recognised by the system since? On the other hand PogArt AsS'er .., it is something very personal, it covers who I am, where I'm belonging to, what I love to do, what I've achieved, what my passion is, my hobbies and desire... Thank you Tessa, I'm appreciate your keen reply, I really do.

POG....brilliant . My son had a dog called POG...Pot of Gold....I promise I won't call you young man as  long as you don't call me elderly...I am the oldest of this lot and in not saying what.   Like what you have started it's interesting I expect your wife will come around to it as it keeps progressing...keep posting it as it it does progress...very impressed with your skating... PS their first dog was called Fridge ...they went to buy a fridge and came back with a dog , nuff  said.
I like your explanation Pog…….Enjoy yourself here. That’s what art should be about.

Thank you very much Marjorie. Lol, I guess I did make my nickname the way I'm making my arts, lol 😉  Why not to change my real name for something more... of an artistic(personal) nature? Lol 😊 Thank you!
