Both the last two are good - though I'm not sure George's doesn't introduce a rather excessive note of festivity! That's quite a bright blue - still; it does show what can be done; I'd just reconsider the blue, and go a bit darker.... mind you: I'm so conservative!
I like John's clean lines - but don't think he needed a biro to accomplish them... I'd rather see that in charcoal or carbon pencil: but - I could well be prejudiced againt biro/bic, etc.

You are right Robert, the background colours is much too blue, reflecting showing colour from my overhead lighting. I've re photographed it more carefully. The ball point pen I used was blue The result is not very much different than I would have got with my normal Fude pen but it was less satisfying to do in ball
