Eric Ravilious is a great choice! If Jenny doesn’t want to highlight both, I’m happy to introduce Paul Nash. Or, I’ll introduce John Piper - please add him to the list Paul.

Yes, I’m happy for Eric Ravilious to go against my name - and I see Alan has already offered to introduce Paul Nash.  This is a really good forum thread and could run indefinitely if it has enough support.  (I remember a time a couple of years ago when everyone was complaining that the forum seemed quite dead - not now!)

Pity we don’t seem to be picking up new members! It needs flagging up on the gallery!
I will add both to the list Alan . I an throughly enjoying the thread but then I’m a tad bias , it certainly has given me some great reading and the opportunity to hunt out artist. What I’m trying to do with the bonus artist at the weekends is to bring the relatively unknown artist, or those who aren’t in the public eye anymore to your attention . It not a easy task as I’m sure lots of artists are known especially by those who have studied art and art history.  It would be nice to have new members , how we go about that I don’t know , Dawn might have a few ideas and I’m sure both Robert and yourself Alan would know more than most of us about promoting a item on POL given your experience.
I might not be commenting very often but I do  enjoy looking in, reading comments and looking at the work of the artists suggested. I will be a bit more active! Whilst Francis Bacon is famous I hate to say I have never seen (knowingly) his paintings. Now I have I have to say I doubt I will look again! I found much of it quite disturbing, however I can’t deny that he has great talent!  Looking at John Nash’s work I liked many of his landscapes. He has a very looser style of painting.
Pleased you keep looking in Gillian, I suspect a lot of people do but don’t feel like commenting . Unfortunately I have no way of knowing how many people use the thread and if we are hitting the right tone etc, still I will keep it going until it fades away.  I’m just about to put the weekend challenge up enjoy.
I’m a look-but-don’t-comment kinda person. I’m enjoying all of the different artists you have featured.
Thank you Helen it’s good to know that people are enjoying it and do keep looking in ,  I have acquired quite a long list .
I have been looking in as well Paul and appreciating everyone's contributions.
Thanks Diane it’s very encouraging when people let you know that they are enjoying the artwork .  I’m sure all the contributors appreciate your comments and feedback , please let me have more names for the list,  more modern artists would be good ,  they don’t need to be famous or the best artists .
Thanks Dixie for all the work you are doing on this thread, which could go on for ever, the possibilities are endless!  I do like Eric Ravillious so am looking forward to that. As regards commenting on the forum, it was quite a while before I started adding any comments though I did follow it regularly and with interest. It seems silly now but it took time to take the plunge and I’m sure there are many looking in but not saying anything.  When I click on POL it takes me straight to the Gallery (I assume everyone is the same) so unless I’m looking for something else such as a course, competition etc, it doesn’t jump out at me and is easy to miss. The only thing I can suggest if we want more to comment is to flag it up on the first page? Maybe Dawn would consider this.
Louise Balaam - NEAC RWA is a hugely successful living artist who’s expressive style of landscape painting I find really interesting - I’ll put her name forward and introduce her Paul.
