Another exceptional artist.
I thought I had added this post earlier this afternoon but for some reason it didn’t work. More of his artwork, mix of landscapes and marine paintings with a abstract that’s attributed to him and Finally a photo of the artist at work. Love those trees , have one of those on my wall anytime.
Fabulous paintings Paul, well except perhaps for one!
Paul I think you've excelled this time. This chaps art is really stunning. I love those two tree pictures. Not so sure about the abstract, but that's my own ignorance about the genre. Such a wonderful artist.
Those two trees are so beautiful, and I also like that snow scene. The abstract is a disaster…one has to ask why he went down this path!
I'm familiar with this artist's work - and have always enjoyed it and looked out for more; the abstract, however .... well, let us just pass over it - Alan has more than adequately expressed a view which I share; I suppose we all think of painting an abstract just to see if we can; maybe abstract painters think of painting a conventional landscape - if they do, let's hope they have more success than this; I may be ignorant of the genre too, but - I can tell a lemon when I see one.
I have to admit that I was surprised when I came across the abstract, I can’t say much about abstract as I actually find them difficult to understand and paint . I can understand why you enjoy his work Robert , enough detail without over doing it.
Had a look at his gallery website which shows a few more of his abstracts.  Most are very small - the one you posted, Paul, is only 6” x 8”.  This is another which more resembles a landscape and has more attractive colours, but such a contrast to his other work.
