Paul, a suggestion for a future week - just come across this rather lovely Art Deco illustration.  Wondered if it might be worth doing a week on Art Deco artwork, not necessarily by one artist.  Don’t think we’ve featured Art Deco already?  If not, perhaps one for Lewis, I know it’s a style he likes.

That’s a very good idea Jenny I will slot it into the list . If Lew wants to take the lead in fine with that , otherwise it will be a open house for anyone to add too , but then it’s always open for people to join in .

I do like art deco, but I did  thread on it about two years go (not in this series on threads), it covered mostly art but also cars, buildings, furnishings, trains and planes.  A lot of people joined in.  It was called ‘Some musings on art deco’, if you want to look at it. So it may be too soon for me to cover it again.  Deco is popular, it might be worth doing again, but by someone else with a different take on it.

It’s under general art discussion, and it’s on page 13.  ‘Some musings on art deco.’ The forum search facility is pretty useless, that’s why, when I remember, if I particularly like a thread I save it to my wall.  Not sure, but if you prescribe to the mag, I THINK you can look at my wall.

Paul, I’ve re-read the post Lewis did a couple of years ago on Art Deco and - with a lot of input from forum members - it covered such a wide range of artists and themes that I don’t think much could be added to it, so it probably isn’t worth revisiting. (It was a few Art Deco fashion illustrations which I’ve seen which made me suggest it, but they often don’t give the name of the artist anyway.)
