'struggles of a painting idiot - a busy day'

It is chilly I had to put the fan heater on, but the sun is out so it should be lovely later. Yesteday had a great day back marking a walk at Mundon, where there is a lovely old church worth visiting or painting. Then off to my mixed media group art group organized through the U3A in the afternoon. We discuss everthing under the sun and then there are long silences as they get on with what ever they are doing. We decided to have a go at pen and ink with watercolour, have a coastal/marine theme for the next few weeks, do some lino printing and collage and maybe start a sub-group for drawing only. Then two hours later off to a painting group in Maldon where I watched a demonstration of "litho" printing, and then had a go getting very mucky but pretty pleased with one of my efforts. Plus I am going to put a painting in to the Maldon Art Trail which I think starts on 29th September. The first time that I have put anything into an exhibition for ten years. It has taken me ten to get over the shame of my last attempt...........! I have touched up and "finished" some of the oil sketches I painted plein air during the summer and am very pleased I did them despite the lousy weather.
