Pilbara Landscape...Class Work

Today I got a little detail into my class project...I don't work on this at home I prefare to get advice from my Tutor especially when it comes to the Australian colours...in this work the greenery is very pale so it dosn't show up yet...I did some work on the cliff today using Indian Red, Burnt Sienna and Sepia which I used with a pen and nib to put a few squiggles into the cliff and a bit of detail...I just love the feel of the nib going across the paper...I hope when this is finished that the greens will show up OK in a photograph because although there is water there the photo I'm working from was obviously taken at the beginning of the dry season in the North West...I have posted both incarnations of this work in my gallery. I didn't paint tonight instead I watched a very interesting programme on art fraud in Australia...it appears that most people who have the money to buy an expensive piece of art don't know what they are looking at...a painting was shown as an Arthur Streeton and even on TV I could tell it wasn't one of his and I've seen few but someone had bought it as a Streeton for a huge sum of money...to date the experts seem to have ferreted out about 1200 fakes...one faker said he didn't paint fakes but what he called his little illusions a scream really...one gallery owner has disappeared into the ether with the money of everyone he dealt with and it seems that the so called investments that he was holding for his clients were mostly fakes...on the health side I think the whole household is turning into swine...everyone is suffering aches, pains, tiredness, fevers hot and cold...there are snuffles and sneezes and although nothing over the top...they are closing schools here with this piggy flu...so I think a trip to the Dr just to make sure...that's the orders from the Government and they must be obeyed...if it's piggy flu then it's quarantine goody just think of all the painting I can get done
