Thanks to Angela Angela for the tips about comfortable painting outdoors. I can sympathise with Robert Jones though - I think I too need a porter. There is so much to carry. I have just got back from the beautiful island of Juist just off the german coast in the north sea. We travelled up by train (over 12 hours) so there wasn't any place for extras. I did take my watercolours and managed to do some painting but it is amazing how cold and hard the dunes are. I took loads of photos and am looking forward to using those. If anyone is looking for a really quiet, old-fashioned holiday I can recommend Juist. There are no cars and the wide, fine sand beach on the north sea side is 17 kms long. We even managed a bit of golf practice in mornings.
