DASTKARI ART GALLERY, Midrand.

How time flies. It was hard work completing the paintings for my first solo exhibition on time to allow sufficient time for drying and framing. I almost did not make it to the venue on the evening of 16 November. There was a terrific thunderstorm with very strong winds and hail over some areas here in Johannesburg (Gauteng.) With no traffic, Midrand is normally approximately 1 hour from our home. On the night of the opening, I left home at 5pm. hoping with the traffic at that time of day, to arrive at Dastkari Gallery at 6:30pm. Well, the road ended up being extremely congested due to many robots not working and of course the heavy rain. Eventually arrived at the venue at 7:40pm. Many guests had all ready left, but there were still a lot of people present and a very good vibe. In spite of the weather, the attendance was very good and I was awesomely blessed with 15 sales at the opening night. No more paintings were sold during the rest of the exhibition that closed on the 30th November, but I remain very grateful and thankful for such a huge blessing. It certainly was confirmation to me that I am on the right road and must continue to paint. God be praised for His guidance and annointing. I certainly would not have coped this year without His creative input, guidance and equiipping.
