Artfordable event

A short time ago I did what I think is a totally daft thing, with much persuasion from my Husband and my Mother, I applied for a space at the Artfordable event taking place in my local arts centre. I did it not thinking that I would get selected, but I did. This did lead to a feeling of panic. I'm not really comfortable with self promotion, I'm one of lifes wallflowers and am quite happy to be one too. Oh well, time to act all brave I suppose. For the first time in it's life my large A3+ professional printer has been put to a lot of work. I don't have many actual paintings to sell as I haven't been able to paint that much until recently, so I decided to sell prints of my paintings and also of some of my photographs. I'm printing them on watercolour paper and I must admit they look really nice. They should last quite a while as the paper is acid free and the ink I'm using is supposed to last 200 years. I was going to do a larger painting as well as we get hanging space on the gallery walls, but I just don't have time so I will have to display prints instead. I just hope I get everything done in time, especially as work seems to be picking up again and will take two days out of my preparation time this week. I can see a few late nights coming on. So, if you happen to be on the Isle of Wight next Saturday (25th June) then please come along to the Artfordable event at Quay Arts in Newport (10am to 4pm), it would be lovely to see you. I will let you know how things went in my next blog.
