Lifework and landscape

I concentrate on landscapes and lifework, working mainly in acrylics for immediacy and strength. Trained at UCS and Mid Cheshire college I was lucky enough to get a residency with the Northern Chamber Orchestra to record a year in the orchestra's life, followed by a travelling exhibition towards the end of my first year at university. Various other exhibitions followed.

hi Jess, yeah, nothing like the Cape, Stellenbosch and Franschoek are the best. Great to see a fellow S Africa on this site. I live in Hermanus, Love the Cape cottage!!!

Hi Jeannette! Have just joined and its so nice to hear from another South African? I live in Port Shepstone and have promised myself a visit to your area, especially after seeing your painting! I too am hopeless at the computer so forgive the mistakes! I have just begun painting with oils (only my 2nd work so far) and am loving it. wish I had started 20 years ago! Keep up the beautiful work, Donna

Hi Jeanette, your work does look familiar, either I know the scene or I have seen your work exhibited somewhere. I f you are ever in Cape Town with a Tuesday pm free, contact me beforehand, as a few of us, go out and about to landscape paint. We are a bunch who paint in all weathers, in Cape Town it could be "all weathers" in one day!. At Kalk Bay yesterday we started in sun, got caught up in heavy mist, then awesome twilight. Hi there, I'm new to all this too after joining on Saturday, I too have had loads of kind comments on my art work. Becareful when your are editing your Portfolio, I was trying to delete a duplicate picture and lost the whole lot of the work I had put in that particular portfolio and all the kind comments that were made, good job that I allowed the comments to come through via email and I put them in a folder that I made for comments on my work, otherwise I'd have no record of what kind things people had said. I'm in the process of reintroducing the pictures and hope that these kind people will be good enough to comment again! Keep up the good work !

Hi Jeannette yes there is a Forum here but you have to log on seperately and you have your name and a password that is different to the rest of the site...in other words it's like logging onto a different site...if you are on here first you must log off and close down...then log on again click Forum and follow the directions it's easy when you know how but I admit to having heaps of problems until I learnt how it was done...good luck...hope you are well and your art is going well...Patsy

Jess, Thank you for leaving a comment on my website. I googled you to find out who you are! Can you get into the Forum on this site? My email address is there. Best wishes Jeannette

Hi Jess how are you are you comming to terms with the computer...I was scared stiff at first in case I did something wrong but the more you use it the better you get...trial and error

Hi Jess again I don't know if this is the answer to your pink problem...I dont use a mouse but the pad on the lap top and sometimes when i'm moving the arrow around and touch something else on the computer all the writing turns aqua on my screen...that is my chosen colour for my screen I hope this helps

Thanks Phil that's also got to the root of the problem

http://www.painters-online.co.uk/gallery/picture.asp?id=10361 should get you to Jessie's gallery..

Hi Jess the 1494 characters left are the number of letters you have left to type on the blog you are writing not words each letter...don't know what the pink is so good luck..I think you are doing very well considering you are new I was in the site for months before I posted...mind you the lack of a camera didn't help...but daughter bought me a lovely digital camera for xmas I then dutifully took pictures of my work or should I say what I have of it..when I tried to put them on the gallery I crashed the whole thing...so when in doubt read instructions I learnt how to reduce the megs on the camera first then success...if you send an email to the team Penni usually answers she will let you know what is going on...she must be very patient because i've been on to her a few times this is my first experience with broadband after dial up for years great isn't it...

Thank you all! As a 'newie' I am battling to do the right thing! Have now had 8 comments! Love hearing from you folks. Phil Kendall -think you must be referring to my Cape Landscape as I have'nt seen the other two I put through - one was 'Helping Hands' Paternoster, the other my 'Roses' . Please come through and HELP! Also saw an interesting name of Alan Woodward with a portrait of PENNEY - I was a Penney and family also Woodward - from Hereford! What do these 'characters' mean - I now see 1494 left???

What name have you used for your gallery...Please?
