I, at last, started a painting. I am still so intimidated by a new canvas... As suggested I started with a watery wash of yellow ochre all over the canvas. Next the drawing main lines and approx outline of the painting. At a sudden the colours to paint came more or less together. It is still in the beginning stages, but it actually starts to look like the entrance to Petra. The photo is a bit different in colour than the original, but the values are the same. Please, do you have any comments on colour, values etc. Let me know. The people are still to be added and in general fine tuning of the rocks.
