This painting may appear to be simplistic at first glance, but there's more to it. To get rythmic curves flowing within a design concept with just enough emphasis on the line work to show inflections at intervals yet without extremely heavy "blobs", and then finished with a controlled use of watercolour doesn't come as easily as it may seem. This painting had to be accomplished with some speed ... it couldn't be precisely drawn-painted without losing something of its character. (Acrylic ink and watercolour. Arches 300 HP. 37cm x 54cm.)
