Every month Leisure Painter includes listings of events, exhibitions, workshops etc. plus art club news and exhibitions. If you have an event you would like to submit for possible inclusion on these pages please email details to Jane Stroud at least 8 weeks prior to the event.

In January 2012, BRINK will be presenting the works of seventeen local and regional artists in a new showcase at The Tiltyard in Leyes Lane, Kenilworth.From local farm and moorland, from birds to rare breed farm animals, Andrew Hutchinson's paintings illustrate the beautiful intricate images of wildlife.An exhibition of paintings in most media and various subjects by members of Royton Art Society. The exhibition is held at Royton Library, Royton Oldham, Lancashire.Regular Life Drawing classes and monthly workshops working from the nude figure. Led by Michael Harket, practising artist and experienced teacher throughout South Devon,these events offer an opportunity to develop skills and experiment through technical guidance and expressive encouragement.
All levels of ability welcome.I am an Alexander Certified Art Instructor and I run regular half day oil painting classes, teaching the wet on wet oil painting method to beginners and intermediate students. The classes are run during the week and some at weekends. If you have ever wanted to learn how to oil paint, then these classes are for you. They are a take and make class, and I provide all the equipment for you to complete your masterpiece in one day.
I also run two evening classes which cover Portrait painting and Pet portrait painting in oils - each course is once a week over a six week period.
My private studio is based in Egerton, Bolton and I teach a maximum of six students per class or course, so I am able to give individual attention to each student.

The exhibition is held at Royton Library, Royton Oldham, Lancashire.Regular Life Drawing classes and monthly workshops working from the nude figure. Led by Michael Harket, practising artist and experienced teacher throughout South Devon,these events offer an opportunity to develop skills and experiment through technical guidance and expressive encouragement.

The classes are run during the week and some at weekends. If you have ever wanted to learn how to oil paint, then these classes are for you. Monday 13Painting Flowers & Still Life with Paul Riley13 to 17 February 2012 A 5 day course with renowned watercolour painter Paul Riley. This course includes the study of flowers and still life. Special attention is given to those who wish to develop their watercolour technique with guidance given in colour, composition and the techniques of brushwork. This course is recommended for those who would like to try both subject areas rather than spend the week on a specialist subject. Paul founded Coombe Farm Studios over 25 years ago and is lead tutor. He has published many instructional books and regularly writes for art magazines. Students can take advantage of the beautiful location of Coombe and the surrounding landscape. This creative break provides a unique opportunity for relaxation as well as artistic development, with tuition from the UKs most experienced watercolour painter.
