Above an Outback Highway (Australia)
One can drive "forever" and, apart from occasional Ranges, not get many opportunities to look down from a reasonable height on to the extremely, wide, expansive, flat horizon. The skies can be uninterrupted blue, or just a few clouds, or brilliantly patterned and sculptured. In this painting I decided to give more activity into sky to complement the active, broad brushstrokes in the foreground with a 'quiet' space in between.
