Many of us will have experience of greens just taking over all the available space; one unkind person suggested that one of my paintings looked as if I'd spilled Baby Bio over it. Had to shoot him, obviously.... This is a very well-balanced painting, in all respects.

I'm guessing the foreground trees are eucalypts, Earl, and I like the way you've given them strength against the softer water, boats and background. A painting that is full of sunshine and warmth - really lovely.

Love your style Earl and your brush work is something special.

As "Grey Nomads" my wife and I travel a lot within Australia. There are some places we often return to and one is the Mid-North Coast of NSW. These two paintings are more recent ones completed. "Dunbogan Marina beneath North Brother Mountain" A quiet spot in one of the fingers of water near the coast. Surrounded by bush and trees, I had to be careful to keep the extensive greens "in check" so that they would not dominate the painting detrimentally.
